117 million gallons of water should be sitting in the hills above Pacific Palisades, but it is not. Journalists are not asking the right questions about it. That's a lot like how they cover Ukraine.
Agreed. I often make the comment that people go into journalism because they like telling stories. Finding and framing a narrative; finding a vignette to illustrate it. They didn’t study math and economics, and in order to “avoid a mistake” it’s safer to just repeat what other people say. The framing of the Ukraine war and the non-analytic approach to reporting on it is just horrific.
Unfortunately, a lot of people have died in part because nobody in the media has pushed back on the constant Russian narrative that they are invincible. The Ukrainians have outperformed the Russians by almost any measure, but very few bring that to light.
Yeah. And everywhere (not just journalism) people seem not to be curious. Not analytical. Short attention spans? Intellectually lazy? Not enough rewards for figuring out the truth? I don’t know, but thank you for your work.
Excellent observations. It’s not only math, but science and even logic as well. I don’t blame the individual journalists, many of whom do the best they can under tough conditions, but their bosses push them for speed, sensationalism, and simplistic narrative.
Well said! It was never about NATO, it was always about Putin’s grand ambitions of reviving the Russian Empire, as well as continuing The Great Game!
The biggest mistake Ukraine ever made was trusting the allies in 1994, when the Budapest Memorandum assured Ukraine’s sovereignty, in exchange, for handing back its stockpile of nuclear weapons (20,000) to Russia.
Now we have MAGA Inc.; a wholly owned subsidiary of Putin Inc., in which no one can be sure how many members of Trump’s cabinet, and/or republican members of Congress, are either “useful idiots,” assets, or been extorted or paid, to regurgitate Putin talking points. And if any one has any doubts about whether Trump isn’t compromised, you truly need to find a good therapist! IMHO!..:)
Crimea rightfully belongs to Russia. Stalin gave it to them at the end of WW2, because that’s where he was from.
Is it true that Ukraine never filed paperwork regarding their borders after the USSR fell? This is also an important detail.
I read that many Ukraine residents are ethnic Russians. This is also an important detail.
And the biological “labs”. This is also an important detail.
And the neo Nazi activity in Ukraine. This is also an important detail.
And the child sex trafficking in Ukraine. Is this true? This is also an important detail.
And the fact that none of this would have happened if the biolabs had been set up somewhere else and NATO wouldn’t have invited Ukraine to join. This is also an important detail.
Hey Steve. Thanks for your note. Someone has been giving you bad information.
- Crimea was given to Ukraine by Khrushchev in 1954. Stalin was from the Republic of Georgia.
- Don't think the paperwork thing is true. With whom would they file that?
- At one time, some Ukrainians in the eastern part of Russia were pro-Russia. Putin claimed to come to liberate them. My girlfriend's mother was one of these people until the Russian soldiers started shooting at her. All the destroyed parts of Ukraine are in eastern Ukraine, where Putin came to "liberate."
- Bio labs is propaganda originated by a Russian general in the first weeks of the war.
- Ukraine has a Jewish president elected with 73% of the vote. I asked a group of Messianic Jews in Ukraine if they had ever seen Nazis, and they laughed at me.
- The Ukrainian government has identified nearly 20,000 children trafficked by the Russian military to Russia. About 1000 have been returned. The older ones have been brainwashed and militarized. All of them come back sexually abused by the Russians.
- Putin wants to rebuild the Soviet Union. NATO has nothing to do with it.
They should file their paperwork regarding their borders with the UN. Anyway, the peninsula belongs to Russia. And anything that happens in Europe is Europe’s problem, including the Muslim “refugees”. “What if they threw a war and no one came?”, a popular question among hippies in the 60s and 70s.
Agree on all points and i wish it were not so.
What happened to fact-checking? What happened to checking their sources and as you say, doing their maths 🤷🏼♂️.
Better to quote direct; better, in some cases, the lie. Better the government or accepted narrative 🤦🏼♂️.
It's disappointing in the extreme.

Not all journalists. I've discovered there are actually 3 kinds of journalists, those that can do math and those that can't.

No, because we should stay out of it.
